The Myth of the Math Genius: Understanding Diverse Neurodivergent Abilities and the Gifted Neurodivergent

It is a common stereotype that neurodivergent individuals, particularly those on the autism spectrum, naturally excel in areas like mathematics and science. However, this notion is more myth than reality. While many neurodivergent individuals do possess exceptional talents, these abilities are not a guaranteed trait among all. According to the Ultimate Divergence Theory of Autism, exceptional abilities arise from an individual’s fixation on specific patterns, developed through a systemizing cognitive style, rather than being innate gifts.

The Role of Socialization in Cognitive Development

Being blocked from the socialization process sets the stage for a systemizing cognitive style to develop. But how this cognitive style unfolds is heavily influenced by the patterns and systems one encounters and fixates on over time. Society often paints a mono-dimensional picture of neurodivergents, ignoring the rich diversity in preferences and talents.

Pattern Fixations: The Practice Behind Perceived Genius

While some neurodivergents certainly do have gifts in areas such as Science, technology, engineering and mathematics, many have exceptional talents in areas we might overlook. Focus, practice, and fixation are the primary drivers in honing these skills, much like mastery in other areas of life. A neurodivergents ability to hyper fixate on subjects that interest them are one of their standout character traits. This is supported by findings in books like The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, emphasizing presence and focus as key to mastery.

For me personally, I developed a love for logic puzzles at a very young age and this fixated practicing of logic and reasoning exercises created the base neural structure of my systemizing cognitive style. My further intense immersion in excel macro coding later in life further created major structural changes to my systemizing cognitive style that left me with abilities outside of mainstream comprehension. Because my life became so dysfunctional by the age of 25, the need for survival caused me to become fixated upon discovering the path to human happiness leading me inadvertently to discovering an empowering model of autism. I also developed a fixation upon patterns in nature that led me to an obsession with permaculture and self-sufficiency.

Hidden Talents: The Diversity of Neurodivergent Interests

The interests of neurodivergent individuals are as varied as the individuals themselves. Many may have exceptional talents that go unrecognized, either due to societal neglect or personal inhibitions. As Bruce Lipton discusses in The Biology of Belief, belief systems, whether personal or societal, can significantly shape our perceived capabilities.

Environment and Emotional Barriers to Talent Development

Many neurodivergents grow up in less nurturing environments or face significant emotional blockages that hinder talent expression. Faster EFT and the Ultimate Divergence Superconscious clearing technique, which deal with memory and emotional releases, can significantly remove barriers to developing exceptional abilities and becoming a gifted neurodivergent.

IQ: A Fluid Measure of Potential

IQ level can also influence what patterns and systems a neurodivergent may be attracted to. IQ is often seen as a fixed measure of intelligence, but it is more fluid and influenced by various factors, including environment and emotional state. Joe Dispenza, in Becoming Superhuman, highlights the potential to enhance brain function through neuroplasticity, supporting the idea that one's cognitive abilities are not static.

Emotional Release: Unlocking True Potential

Realizing one’s potential is often hampered by internal emotional struggles tied to traumatic memories. Releasing these emotional blockages can lead to significant personal growth and an unveiling of latent abilities. This links closely to principles in Conversations with God by Neil Donald Walsh, which encourages releasing past burdens to reveal true self.

Conclusion: Embracing the Full Spectrum of Neurodivergent Gifts

By understanding the diversity of neurodivergent abilities and the factors that influence their development, we can better appreciate and nurture the potential within individuals. This includes breaking free from societal stereotypes and fostering environments where all forms of intelligence and creativity can thrive. The development of a systemizing cognitive style creates the huge potential for exceptional abilities to develop. Through addressing any PTS a neurodivergent individual may have; we can unlock this potential and allow exceptional abilities to flourish and more gifted neurodivergents to emerge.
